You gotta love a Ladyfag party: The reigning queen of New York nightlife promoter attracts all manner of late-night fabulosi to her parties, but she doesn’t scrimp on the musical end of the equation as well. At this installment of her Schimanski takeover (tagline: “dark music for dark times”), the shindig is gathering an array of top international and local talent to supply the soundtrack. The affair’s headliner is Virginia, the Berlin-based Ostgut Ton DJ and producer beloved for her syncopated rhythms, her sumptuous melodies and her deeply emotive vision of what club music can be—not to mention her occasional burst of live vocals. The support crew is top-tier as well, with the Texas-based house iconoclast Bill Converse joined by one of NYC’s leading connoisseur of outsider club sounds, Lauren Flax; Basement Floor’s Turtle Bugg, Fatherhood (a.k.a. Michael Magnan and Daniel “Physical Therapy” Fisher) and the Butched duo complete the lineup.
